DIY striped wall!

So when we decided to move back to the country I knew I wwas going to take full reins on our new house and for once my husband let me lol!!

Our house is a small quant house. I have always loved that rustic feel so that's kinda what I went with for our new home. Granted it's still a work in progress I have so many dreams and hopes and plans for this new house.

So I got on Pinterest (insert eye roll here) and saw a gold striped wall tatorail. It won my soul immediately lol. Here is my spin on it.

You will need the following
Blue tape,paint,brushes,paint pan.

First:
Paint.
The white is called behr white snow. The gold is Martha Stewart precious metal collection in tiger eye.

Second:
Paint your base color!
I applied the white only once and it was prefect! I will never use another paint other than behr!
Once that dries completely move onto three

Three:
tape off your walls
This was the most tedious part!!! My OCD really kicked in and I think me and my husband did the blue tap a hundred times lol!

Fourth:
Add your second color.
I painted two coats and the let it dry. Then went back in and coated in a third time just to make sure the gold really popped! One thing I learned is do not paint to hard around the tape cause it can cause it to bleed under the tape.

Leave that to dry for 24 hours!

Fifth:
Pull off tape.
SLOWLY!! My husband went to fast one one are and tore the white paint off!!

Sixth:
Touch ups.
Use a small fine paint brush for touch ups.

 Wha la finished product!!!

Every time I look at it I just smile!!! I couldn't be more happy with how this turned out! Hope this helps and inspires you to take the reins in any house you love in. It can be very fun and therapeutic!

Until we meet again- ASH
