Product reviews for February!

Can you believe it's fixing to be march already?
February was a big month for me. Me and my sweet man celebrated our 7 year anniversary... Two if those years we have been married as of the 25th.
February has also been a cold month :( it has been hard on my skin and my hair. So I have been doing a lot of product shopping... Shit I always do a lot of shopping ha these are my February finds and what I think of them :)

Essence volumizing lash powder. Bought at ulta.

2 new mascaras by the essence line. One called "get big lashes" and the other is "all eyes in me". Purchased at ulta.

Big sexy spray and play harder. Big sexy flip it over.
Big sexy volumizing dry shampoo.
  All purchased at ulta.

          My  product reviews:

Powder on only my right eye. See the huge difference.

essence volumizing powder:
To say I'm in love with this stuff is an understatement! My eye lashes have been falling out because my eyes have been so dry due to the weather. I feel like it has brought some life back to my eyes. I coat one coat of the great big lashes. Then coat the powder on. I wait about two minutes and then add the last coat which is the all eyes on me. I highly recommend this awesome ulta find and under 5.00 can't beat it!!!

Great big lashes and all eyes on me essence mascara:
I'm loving both of these! I love mascara. I probably buy every new one that comes out to test it. Lol these are a gem. They work great on my lashes and make me look like I actually have some! And again they where both under 5.00 at ulta!

Eyes that are completely finshed! Love this look.

Big sexy spray& play harder:
If I'm wearing my hair straight I add this for lots of volume! I love this stuff.

Big sexy Flip it over:
I spray this on my hair when I'm curling it and after. It's a texture spray so I love the texture it gives my curls without leaving me looking like Shirley temple. The only con: is for that small bottle is about 20.00 bucks and I curl my hair often. So it's not really going to last awhile. Other than that I recommend it.

Big sexy volumizing dry shampoo:
So.... Not impressed. I have red hair so in order for it not to fade quickly I skip washes. I probably wash it every three days. So I need a good dry shampoo. This one falls flat (pun intended). It makes  my scalp feel like it has a gross amount of build up. It also leaves my hair limp and greasy! I would rather just let my hair be between washes then add this stuff. It wasn't what I was hoping for and will not purchases again.

That's my February finds :) have you found any good products lately that you have fallen in love with?

Until we meet again- ASH

DIY striped wall!

So when we decided to move back to the country I knew I wwas going to take full reins on our new house and for once my husband let me lol!!

Our house is a small quant house. I have always loved that rustic feel so that's kinda what I went with for our new home. Granted it's still a work in progress I have so many dreams and hopes and plans for this new house.

So I got on Pinterest (insert eye roll here) and saw a gold striped wall tatorail. It won my soul immediately lol. Here is my spin on it.

You will need the following
Blue tape,paint,brushes,paint pan.

First:
Paint.
The white is called behr white snow. The gold is Martha Stewart precious metal collection in tiger eye.

Second:
Paint your base color!
I applied the white only once and it was prefect! I will never use another paint other than behr!
Once that dries completely move onto three

Three:
tape off your walls
This was the most tedious part!!! My OCD really kicked in and I think me and my husband did the blue tap a hundred times lol!

Fourth:
Add your second color.
I painted two coats and the let it dry. Then went back in and coated in a third time just to make sure the gold really popped! One thing I learned is do not paint to hard around the tape cause it can cause it to bleed under the tape.

Leave that to dry for 24 hours!

Fifth:
Pull off tape.
SLOWLY!! My husband went to fast one one are and tore the white paint off!!

Sixth:
Touch ups.
Use a small fine paint brush for touch ups.

 Wha la finished product!!!

Every time I look at it I just smile!!! I couldn't be more happy with how this turned out! Hope this helps and inspires you to take the reins in any house you love in. It can be very fun and therapeutic!

DIY: goodwill find.

So I have been having so much fun decorating and getting things for our new house.
That being said, I loveeeeee DIY crafts. So when I find a great goodwill find I'm like a kid in a candy shop lol.

I found a bread box this last time and I thought.... Gold!!! Lol here is my before and after.

        Before

           Before

After: can't decided which color for the knob.

                  After
After: the top is chalkboard paint!!!!

I've been on a green kick lately. My husband said it reminds him of wicked (which I'm obsessed with) I didn't mean to go that route but it's pretty cool it ended up like that.

DIY: old window turned into American flag

I have a sick obsession with Pinterest it's bad! Lol
My husband HATES it, other than some of the awesome recipes I get off there ha!
So I was looking through the DIY craft section and came across the old windows. I searched for what seemed like hours looking at all the great ideas but once I came across the flag I was sold.

First: I had to go on the search to find an old window.
They are actually really was to find! I searched Craigslist first and they had tons I was going to just buy one off there but me and my husband popped into one of my favorite antique shops this week and I found one so just picked it up from there.

Old window bought from rare bird antiques.

Second: I went to Walmart to buy acrylic paint. That's my favorite just be aide it's non- toxic and helps with a baby running around.

Just simple paint bought at Walmart for a few cents a piece.

Third: painting.
That was seriously the most stressful part! Lol I can be a little hard on myself so  when my stars didn't turn out perfect I almost had a break down lol not really but close to it. I don't have any pictures sadly of me painting it :( I wish I would have taken some in between.

And whala my finished project! I know my stars look horrible!! But at the end of the day they where hand painted. I'm pretty proud of it and at the end my whole cost all together was under 20.00 bucks! I can't wait to put it in our new house with my dad's army certificate.

What's some of your DIY?

JEANS- American eagle artist jeans in dark wash of course

SHOES- TARGET.... Me and my son have matching ones. I didn't even catch it till I put mine on this morning lol. What can I say great minds think alike.

My shirt makes me giggle everytime I wear it. It says "redneck rumbler" which was the name of an actual car show. I love cars and car shows!!
My dad takes my aunt to chemo every Wednesday and part of there outing always includes a trip to goodwill which my aunt spends hours in!! So my dad always finds me the most ridiculous shirts he can find me. This one is by far my favorite!!!

Foundation review: Kat Von d lock it tattoo foundation

So as I have mentioned before I was a tan-a-Holic starting about when I was 16. I would hit up the tanning bed EVERYDAY... No seriously everyday and sometimes even twice a day. I know I know dangerous and just plan stupid. I continued my love for the tanning bed up until I got pregnant when I was 25 yep 25!! I was warned countless number of times of the dangers of tanning and I ignored them all. See I even worked in tanning salons for years, it was something I loved and could see to satan if I needed to lol.
But.....
After I had Jack I didn't have time to go anymore so the years of tan fell off of my beautiful olive skin and left it's ugly mark all over my face!

Sunspots!!!!
I couldn't believe it! My family had worn me how it would mess with my face but I just ignored them to this day I wish I hadn't. So it's something I have always been self conceous about. So I started wearing foundation. Something I sadly never had to do before.

I've tried maybelline BB, benefits, and smashbox nothing seemed to cover my face like I was wanting.

So I took myself down to sephora and sought out help lol.

Not only is my face covered with sunspots but by noon it also becomes an oil slick!!! So I needed something to help with both coverage and oil control.
That's when the lady introduce me to
Kat Von d lock it tattoo foundation.

I had done my reviews before I had got to sephora so I knew a little about the foundation before hand. But when she first went to put it on im not gonna lie it scared me. It was so thick!! But once she  put it on I was sold!

         My face before foundation.

See how thick it is? A little goes a long way. And I do one side of my face then the other. Helps with blending in my opinion.

Elf foundation brush. It was a dollar  and it works like a charm. I love elf. Bought at target.

Blending sponge because like I said it is a bit thick lol but this helps even it out. Bought at ulta.

     And face afterwards

Please excuse the cross eyed dumb look lol I'm not good at selfies. But this picture shows the awesome coverage.
It has covered all my imperfections. It's a matte foundation so I feel it has also worked keeping my oil skin under control lol. And it last all day without having to be touched up. And it hasn't left my face cakey or even feel to heavy for how thick it is. My only draw back is you have to make sure it is completely blended.

I would recommend this product to anyone wanting good coverage.

But if your looking for just a normal foundation with just a little coverage, I might go another route.

Until we meet again- ASH
