Nursery tour

With my first baby I didn't get to decorate a nursery (long story short..in laws... Lol)
So when we found out we where pregnanat again I was ecstatic! But most importantly I was so excited to finally decorate a nursery.
It was an amazing experience.

I first went to Pinterest for inspiration. I knew I wanted an Elvis feel I mean hello her name is Memphis lol. I also wanted a vintage feel as well.
The room really came together as soon as I found a bedding I just couldn't live with out and then it went from there.

I found this gorgeous hot air balloon bedding at target. As soon as I saw it I knew I had to have it.

1. After the bedding I spray painted the crib gold. I also made the gold lettering above her crib for her shower so it tied in perfectly to her room and decor.

I found a mobile in etsy that I loved but it was so expensive so I went to my mother in law and asked if she could replicate it. I bought the stuff at hobby lobby and she made it. It exceeded all my expectations. I just stare at it. I love it so much!!!

We bought the changing table at ikea. It's simple at relatively inexpensive.
The lyric sheet above the crib is the song we walked back down the aile to as husband and wife at our wedding. (It's Elvis Presley can't help falling in love). At the baby shower everyone put their finger print on a music not. It also has the gates of Graceland on each side of it that we got when we went right before she was born.

My mother in law again came through. She made the changing table cover I just found the fabric.

I found this shelf on a buy sale trade site for 5 bucks.
The lamp my bestfriend bought us.
The rabbit on the second shelf I have had since I was a baby.
We have some of our maternity pictures in frames.

     Up top:
The picture I painted before I knew I was pregnant. I thought it was perfect for her room.
There is a Elvis candle up there as well.

That is the rocking chair from my room as a baby and now it's hers.

Vintage magazine rack that I rolled up her swaddle blankets and put it on there.

I just love and enjoy this space. Hope you enjoyed the tour.

Until we meet again-ASH

Update on life with a new baby

Man have I missed you all and blogging. So much has happened in such a short amount of time!!

On oct,13th I have birth to a beautiful baby girl weighing in at 6 pounds 11 ounces. She is perfect. She is offcially a month old.
We named her Memphis (I may have an Elvis problem ha)

She definitely is diffrent than my first that's for sure.

I had another c-section. Going into it I was terrified. The first one was just so awful that I'm just now able to talk about it some. I truly thought with my first c-section that I was going to die on the operating table. I never thought I was going to see my sons face. Straight out the gate with this c-section I had a better set of doctors. They where more understanding and helped talk me through so much more. Especially my anesthesiologist. I just can not sing that mans praises enough. I and prayed so hard before surgery that I really believe  God placed that man in that room. He was able to keep me calm and kep telling me my vitals and just kept talking me through the whole process.
It went so well this time that I was up walking by the night of my surgery though it hurt like hell that was a huge triumph from the first. I wasn't able to get up and move from my first one until nearly 24 hours later.
I was able to leave the hospital after two days the first I wasn't able to leave until 5 days later.

Transitioning from one kid to two seems to be the hardest part so far. My sweet boy is still trying to adapt to someone else sharing the spotlight and being in his space. We started him in preschool so he can be around other kids and not have to be shushed every 5 mins and he is really loving it! That makes me so happy.

I also got to finally decorate a nursery which I didn't with my first thanks to my in laws! And I made sure to let Jack help me decorate. It made the experience that much more special.

I sure am loving being a mother two. It's more than I could ever dream of!

Meeting my girl for the first time.

Heading home! She wore the same onsie my son wore home except hers was pink!

My loves

This picture is everything! The photographer who took this picture is also the lady who took our wedding photos! I was also pregnant with my son when I got married. And now my sweet girl had her turn with that dress! To say it came full circle is an understatement.

That's is all for now! Love to you all!

Until we meet again-ASH
