Nursery tour

With my first baby I didn't get to decorate a nursery (long story short..in laws... Lol)
So when we found out we where pregnanat again I was ecstatic! But most importantly I was so excited to finally decorate a nursery.
It was an amazing experience.

I first went to Pinterest for inspiration. I knew I wanted an Elvis feel I mean hello her name is Memphis lol. I also wanted a vintage feel as well.
The room really came together as soon as I found a bedding I just couldn't live with out and then it went from there.

I found this gorgeous hot air balloon bedding at target. As soon as I saw it I knew I had to have it.

1. After the bedding I spray painted the crib gold. I also made the gold lettering above her crib for her shower so it tied in perfectly to her room and decor.

I found a mobile in etsy that I loved but it was so expensive so I went to my mother in law and asked if she could replicate it. I bought the stuff at hobby lobby and she made it. It exceeded all my expectations. I just stare at it. I love it so much!!!

We bought the changing table at ikea. It's simple at relatively inexpensive.
The lyric sheet above the crib is the song we walked back down the aile to as husband and wife at our wedding. (It's Elvis Presley can't help falling in love). At the baby shower everyone put their finger print on a music not. It also has the gates of Graceland on each side of it that we got when we went right before she was born.

My mother in law again came through. She made the changing table cover I just found the fabric.

I found this shelf on a buy sale trade site for 5 bucks.
The lamp my bestfriend bought us.
The rabbit on the second shelf I have had since I was a baby.
We have some of our maternity pictures in frames.

     Up top:
The picture I painted before I knew I was pregnant. I thought it was perfect for her room.
There is a Elvis candle up there as well.

That is the rocking chair from my room as a baby and now it's hers.

Vintage magazine rack that I rolled up her swaddle blankets and put it on there.

I just love and enjoy this space. Hope you enjoyed the tour.

Until we meet again-ASH

Update on life with a new baby

Man have I missed you all and blogging. So much has happened in such a short amount of time!!

On oct,13th I have birth to a beautiful baby girl weighing in at 6 pounds 11 ounces. She is perfect. She is offcially a month old.
We named her Memphis (I may have an Elvis problem ha)

She definitely is diffrent than my first that's for sure.

I had another c-section. Going into it I was terrified. The first one was just so awful that I'm just now able to talk about it some. I truly thought with my first c-section that I was going to die on the operating table. I never thought I was going to see my sons face. Straight out the gate with this c-section I had a better set of doctors. They where more understanding and helped talk me through so much more. Especially my anesthesiologist. I just can not sing that mans praises enough. I and prayed so hard before surgery that I really believe  God placed that man in that room. He was able to keep me calm and kep telling me my vitals and just kept talking me through the whole process.
It went so well this time that I was up walking by the night of my surgery though it hurt like hell that was a huge triumph from the first. I wasn't able to get up and move from my first one until nearly 24 hours later.
I was able to leave the hospital after two days the first I wasn't able to leave until 5 days later.

Transitioning from one kid to two seems to be the hardest part so far. My sweet boy is still trying to adapt to someone else sharing the spotlight and being in his space. We started him in preschool so he can be around other kids and not have to be shushed every 5 mins and he is really loving it! That makes me so happy.

I also got to finally decorate a nursery which I didn't with my first thanks to my in laws! And I made sure to let Jack help me decorate. It made the experience that much more special.

I sure am loving being a mother two. It's more than I could ever dream of!

Meeting my girl for the first time.

Heading home! She wore the same onsie my son wore home except hers was pink!

My loves

This picture is everything! The photographer who took this picture is also the lady who took our wedding photos! I was also pregnant with my son when I got married. And now my sweet girl had her turn with that dress! To say it came full circle is an understatement.

That's is all for now! Love to you all!

Erin condren planner

Today my planner finally came! Lol. For this momma who has so much going on I don't mind paying a pretty penny for something that can help me organize my life lol!

I ordered it at the end of June and was told it wouldn't get here til July 20th so I was excited when I saw that it came earlier!!

How gorgeous is that box!

 Love it!

I got what is called the life planner. I like that you can customize it and add your own pictures because I am a picture freak lol. I couldn't be happier with my purchase! It's almost so pretty I don't want to use it! Lol.
What helps you get organized?
Do you have a planner?
Whats your favorite part?

Update... Been gone for a min!

I'm While haven't blogged in so long!!! I have missed it terribly! I figured I would update you all on everything :)

So I'm well into my pregnancy! We are bumping along right at 26 weeks!!!!

We are having a precious baby GIRL!!!!

We are naming her Memphis Presley.

This pregnancy has been very different from my first to say the least lol. The whole first trimester I stayed sick. And the pain from my hips was almost unbearable. It got better in the second trimester but I would get so sleepy I could barley keep my eyes open. I'm still having issues with my appetite. I still don't have much of one. I did that with my first also. I wouldn't eat for days and just drank boost shakes. It hasn't been that bad but I only eat about once a day then drink a shake.

I'm so ready to meet her!

Until we meet again- ASH

Ramble... Update

Fellow bloggers and friends!
My how I have missed you guys!!!!!
I have been Mia for a little bit dealing with my growing adventurous toddler.
My husband had to have a procedure done in January!! Which had me beyond freaked out (even though it was completely minor! Lol. I don't know just the thought of him going under and there being even a 5 percent chance that I could lose him had me so upset. I've been with that man for 8 years literally everyday! (Except for a few trips here or there and they where always awful without him and I would get physically ill.. Yes I know pathetic lol) he is just my world!!!! It really put a lot of things into prospective! It made me realize I really couldn't live without that man in my life!
That was followed by my dad having an emergency procedure that should have been done a year ago! He went in for a check up and they informed him that the battery in his defibrillator ( it's a tiny machine in my dads chest that actually shocks his heart and pretty much keeps it beating because it's to weak to beat on it own.. If it dies well my dad dies) was extremely low. If he had gone even a few more days with that battery he would have been dead. They doctor told us that that was the longest he had ever seen a defibrillator battery pushed (that's Jesus right there my friends) anyways he came through the proceedure with flying colors and barley any pain yay!!!
Also I have been pretty sick since around January blahhh ill touch more on that later.
But that's what's been going on the past few months! It truly has felt like a whirlwind!! But I have some more blogs heading your way so keep your eyes posted for that! Love you all!

Until we meet again-ASH

Why do we have to deal with loss?

Today my dad did his usually call me at lunch time.
As I answered the phone with my usual hello my favorite daddy, there was silence on the other end but the sound was so loud. At that moment I knew something was wrong I just didn't know what. As my father choked  back the tear filled words he said,"Eddie died this morning" I was stunned, shocked, angry, hurt. My Eddie was gone? My 54 year old God driven, beautifully singing, personal elvis sweetheart was dead.
See my dad works for the state. After my mom passed my dad was kinda lost for a few years.he never really had any friends. He worked three jobs when my mom was alive and never really had time for any. He lost his what he called his best friend which was his older brother one year before my mother. To say he had a hard few years was a huge understatement. My dad went through a huge depression and has openly admitted later on that he thought about suicide a lot that first year after my moms death cause he truly felt like he had lost it all. He never really talked, or communicated. It was work then home and in the bed. This was the year I stayed with my "step mother" because my dad was there but yet he wasn't.
Anyways He worked in a building downtown but a position opened up at a different location so they moved my dad out there and that's when he met angel Eddie as I liked to call him.
As soon as my dad met Eddie they immediately clicked. I honestly think it was because he looked a lot like my late uncle. Within the first year of my dad meeting Eddie it was like a light had grown inside him. He started talking more. Going to dinner with us more and then he started going to church after Eddie worked on him and spent a year preaching the word to my dad and in my eyes he truly saved my dads life. We have always considered him family. He was at my wedding and I always made sure to take baby Jack to see him at least once a month if not once every 2 weeks. He always called to check on my dad if he didn't show up for work and vice versa. He was just an increadable man. I don't think anyone could ever have a negative thing to say about him.
After the phone call I had to step away from my son and get my composure. I felt like I had been punched in the stomach. I just don't understand death sometimes.
I was raised in the church. So I know that is just a temporary home and that our real home is in heaven for forever and ever but why do we have to experience death to get there? I'm no stranger to loss. I attended my first funeral at age 7 only to bury my own mother a year later.
I hate it. I can't stand it. I fear it. Why can't we just have our eternal life here with the ones we love without having to go through all the suffering? It's things like this that if I let it long enough will shake my faith. And I can't let that happen. Especially if Eddie knew this would shake my faith he would tell me "no ashley keep your eyes on Jesus". But it's hard when my heart hurts.
In the last two years I had to watch my bestfriend lose her unborn child. A child she wanted so bad. A child that would have been loved like no other but for what? Why? I also had to watch another lose her father. And had to watch him slip away slowly. Why do we have to go through these things?
I worry for my dad. He looked forward to going to work and talking with his bestfriend Eddie. Or going to lunch. Where does he go from here? My dad has lost so much that I wish I could wrap my arms around him and hold him till there's no more hurt. Loss is just one of those things that stays with you and changes you.
I pray to my father above to heal everyone in pain today. To help us understand why these things must happen. Why someone so deserving of life is now gone. Why we can't live here forever with no hurt.
When it's my turn to go,Jesus better be ready for the long list of questions I have for him. Lol.
Until then my heart hurts. I will listen to elvis and think of Eddie and our shared love for elvis,Jesus and my daddy.
Rest in sweet peace my little elvis impersonator. My life got a little bit dimmer today.

My own personal elvis has officially left the building.
