I've never been one to follow the crowd. Especially style wise that just isn't me. So today I felt like mixing stripes like I said I don't follow the crowd and some people probably thought my outfit was stupid lol but I loved the two different size stripes together. Especially because I LOVE black and white stripes..... Just call me beetle juice ;)

Old ladder turned into shelf: DIY

So my sister was in a wreck a few weeks ago (don't text and drive friends) and totaled out her car so we have been sharing a vehicle. That being said we all know I'm a huge pintrester so one night while browsing I came across an old ladder shelf, I thought how cool would that be so I searched the local flea market and didn't find one so I let it go. Well while taking her home one night there was a bunch of stuff in her neighbors yard with a for FREE sign on it. And low and be hold there was a old vintage ladder!!! 

My husband grabbed it up and home with us it went. It needed some tlc

First

My husband helped me nail boards on the back to help with the shelves. It had a x frame support beams on the back so I just pulled those off. I measured the back and went to lowes and got a 6ft wood block and got them to cut it down to 18inc pieces so that way I wouldn't have to pay a lot for wood.

Second

I then spray painted it once with a cheap white spray paint just to give it that base coat. then went back over it a second time with a white with more of a satin finish. This took about two coats to really get it good and covered.

Third

I bought fence post boards to go on it for my shelves to give it that real rustic feel. I let them sit outside for a few days due to how they just smelt to much like wood (I know I know lol) 

And wha la finished product! 

I'm so happy with it I can barely stand it. 

And it cost me around 20.00 bucks to complete this whole project. I think that is a win!!!!!

What's in your bag?

I have loved purses since I was a little girl. There is nothing more that can compliment your outfit like a purse. So I've seen some of my fellow bloggers show there beautiful purses and what's inside of it. So here you go ladies and gentlemen, here is what is in my bag :) 

My purse is a Steve Madden brown fringe purse with pink of the straps. Believe it or not this was a goodwill snag!!!!!!!! It still had the 80.00 tag on it when I bought it for 15.00 bucks! I'm telling you there are treasures to be found in goodwill. 

Inside my purse you will find:

1.ray ban eye glass case

2.Ray Ban eyeglasses

3.E.O.S. Lip balm (I carry them everywhere)

4.elf lip gloss in melon

5.shout wipes... I have a kid people haha :) 

6. Hand sanitizer. I have hand sanitizer everywhere. In my car, in my kitchen,bathroom, bedroom you name it it's there. 

7.piggy coin purse my dad got me. I don't really use it for change but my son loves to play with it and I just like to have a little something my dad gave me with me at all times. Not to mention I LOVE PIGS!!!

8. Pens!!! I always have to have pens with me and they have to be a certain type of pen too lol.

9. The healthy deodorant! I hate the smell of deodorant but this brand has more of a perfume smell as oppose to that baby powder smell.

10. Candy, again I have a child and you never know when he's going to need to be rewarded ha!

11. Loop skull wallet! I can't say enough how much I love this wallet. I love the color and the fact that it has a mirror on the inside and enough places to hold everything I own in it.

12. Aloe Vera! My husband is as white as paper and burns regularly so I keep this is my purse incase he gets his face burned while we are out in about.

Happy belated fourth. Independence is a great thing to be celebrated.

Can you belive that the Fourth of July has already came and gone? Like I remember what I was doing for the Fourth of July last year!!!!! Crazy!!!! We kicked off the wonderful weekend by having a big family dinner at my place Thursday since everyone was going to be off work for the next three days. That almost never happens. Friday the day of the big fourth we did another big dinner then headed outside to play with some fireworks. It was exciting be able to do fireworks with my son this year because he was able to understand them a little bit better and have fun this year. We didn't go downtown like we usually do because the previous week our town had there annual summerfest carnival to kind of kick off summer time and they have a huge firework program the last day. We had a huge blast. I hope everyone got to spend time with their loved ones. But it's always special to be able to celebrate our country even if it is corupte. I support our military and hold that honor to the up most highest. I know that seems a little exteme but like I have said before military runs in my blood. Again I hope everyone had a good and safe fourth. Love and blessings to you all.

June favorites!!!!

Can you believe June has came and gone! Where does time go. I feel like we just celebrated Christmas! Lol. It's been a rainy month that's for sure. It was filled with lots of fun though. I love in the country y'all... No but seriously I do and we have what we call summerfest to kick off summer. It's a week long carnival that ends with a beautiful firework show. My son absoultey had a ball! He rode his first carnival ride. I hope July holds just as much fun for us as June did. But with all the fun I was able to get some shopping in! So here are my June favorites lovies!!!!

Planner: I love June because that's when they start putting out all the awesome school supplies! And there is nothing I look forward to more than planners. I got this one at target I loved the pattern. I got this big one then a smaller version to go in my purse. 

EOS SHAVING CREAM: it's like the heavens opened and sent this straight to me lol. I'm obsessed with eos Chapstick. I have to have one in every bag I'm carrying. They keep my lips so hydrated and smooth that when I saw this I about had a heart attack. And it keeps my legs so smooth and silky. Perfect for Summer time. And the smell is amazing. Bought at Walmart.

SALLY HANSEN AIRBRUSH LEGS: it is seriously like make up for your legs! The color is beautiful. And it mask and inperfections I may have on my legs. It goes on smoothly and doesn't leave any residue on my clothes which I love. Bought at ulta 

NOT YOUR MOTHERS BEACH BABE SHAMPOO: I'm a huge fan of not your mothers shampoos and this one doesn't disappoint. It leaves my hair soft with just enough texture for some pretty soft beach waves. Perfect for summer. Bought at ulta 

BATISTE DRY SHAMPOO: this stuff is so refreshing. I got the vibrant red and I love it for those in between washes. It gives my hair lots of volume and texture and the smell is amazing. They have others like blush and cherry. I spray this in my hair even if it's clean just to give it some texture before I curl it. It's the best dry shampoo I've come across so far. Bought at ulta

LOREAL VOLUMINOUS MASCARA: 

Makes my lashes full and the super dark which I love! Bought at ulta 

ELF UNDEREYE CONCEALER and HIGHLIGHTER: I have always had issues with dark circles under my eyes. This stuff covers those like nothing I have seen before. And the highlighter gives me that awake look. I can sing enough praises about this item. Bought at target.

NYX LIPSTICKS:

I've been dabbling more and more in red lipsticks. These two colors are beautiful! They stay put and I don't feel like they get everywhere or like they are slipping off my lips.

2.red rapture- which is more of a dark red with blue undertone.

ANASTASIA CONTOUR KIT!!!!!!!!!

I have been waiting for months to get my hands on this!!!! And it has not disappointed one bit! As so son as I got the email that sephora had them in stock in store I drove straight there! No seriously I did lol. I love this kit and have used it almost everyday. If I'm not contouring then I'm using if from bronzing! The colors are beautiful and just highly pigmented!!!!! Bought at sephora!

Well that idea it for this month! Now onto what we can find for July :)
